Welcome to the Fall semester!
The Writing Center offers all undergraduate students free writing support through one-on-one tutoring.We encourage you to take advantage of free writing tutoring for your Fall 2023 courses. Summer tutoring will begin on Monday, September 11, 2023 and continue through the semester, ending on Friday, December 15, 2023. Writing coaches will work with you to support you in your writing and to help you improve your skills in critical reading, written analysis, organization, use of sources, and grammar and syntax.
Fall 2023 Hours
Monday - 9:15am to 5:30pm
Tuesday - 9:15am to 5:30pm
Wednesday - 10:00am to 8:30pm
Thursday - 9:15am to 5:30pm
Friday - 10:00am to 1:00pm

ABOUT THE WRITING CENTER
The Rutgers University-Newark Writing Center provides tutoring for students who want to strengthen their reading, writing, and research skills and offers individual sessions and writing workshops to all undergraduate students currently enrolled in classes on the Rutgers University-Newark campus. Tutors support students in becoming more independent readers and writers capable of responding well to the demands of academic writing. Tutoring is for students who want to strengthen their reading, writing, and research skills.
How You Will Learn
The tutoring staff at the Writing Center is comprised of professional writing coaches-- undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty -- from a variety of disciplines. Tutors can help students clarify an assignment; generate ideas; expand on their writing; review and revise drafts; improve grammar and style; and strengthen reading and editing skills.
