Students accepted to the Newark College of Arts and Sciences or University College-Newark will be assigned their Student Orientation, Advisement, and Registration (SOAR) Date through the link below.
SOAR is a one-day program designed to welcome new students. Your SOAR day will include meeting new friends, learning about campus resources, and registering for courses with the assistance of an academic advisor.
Note: All 2021 SOAR dates will be a virtual experience due to the current state of affairs with COVID-19. Please be sure to check your email for updates & correspondence about SOAR.
During SOAR, you will:
- Learn about expectations for your first year at Rutgers University-Newark.
- Work with an academic advisor and peer advisors to review Core Curriculum requirements and review appropriate course selections.
- Leave with an understanding of the Rutgers Web Registration system, Degree Navigator, graduation requirements, and the OAS academic advisement process.
- If you have any official or unofficial transcripts listing AP or college credits you have earned, please have them on hand and ready to discuss on your SOAR date.
