The School of Arts & Sciences-Newark (SASN) is dedicated to providing a wide variety of educational opportunities and a high level of support to our students. We offer nearly 40 different undergraduate programs in three main areas of study: Arts & Humanities, Social Sciences, and STEM. We hope these resources help you as you make your college decision.
If you are a current high school student and are interested in attending the School of Arts & Sciences-Newark, you are in the right place! We have a number of virtual events (found below) that we would love for you to attend to get a better feel for our school & what we have to offer.
If you are currently attending another institution and are interested in transferring to the School of Arts & Sciences-Newark, you’ve found the right spot! We have a number of virtual events for you to attend to get a better feel for our school & what we have to offer. We are also offering drop-in pre-transfer advising appointments that you can attend on Friday afternoons. During these appointments, you will meet one-on-one with an Assistant Dean in our school to discuss your specific questions about transferring. All virtual event information can be found below.
If you have previously attended Rutgers University and are looking to return to complete your degree, you can re-enroll into the School of Arts & Sciences-Newark by completing our fall or spring re-enrollment application.

If you were previously academically dismissed Rutgers University and would like to enroll in the School of Arts & Sciences-Newark to complete your degree, you will need to apply for reinstatement. Reinstatement applications are reviewed once in June and once in December for students hoping to attend the fall or spring semester, respectively.

If you are currently attending another school within Rutgers University and would like to transfer to the School of Arts & Sciences-Newark (SASN), you will need to apply for a school-to-school transfer. Students are eligible to apply for a school to school transfer into SASN if they have:
- completed a minimum of 24 credits at Rutgers University as a matriculating student
- successfully completed English Composition II and College Algebra (or higher) with a C or better
- earned a minimum cumulative GPA of a 2.30 at Rutgers University

If you have already completed a baccalaureate degree and are looking to complete another degree at the School of Arts & Sciences-Newark, you can enroll in one of our programs as a second degree student. Click here to see our second degree requirements.

Are you looking to take courses here at the School of Arts & Sciences-Newark as a visiting student?
- Visiting/non-matriculating students can take courses here year-round and must apply through the Office of Admissions. Please contact their office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Are you a prospective transfer student who has questions about SASN’s degree programs, transfer credit policies, and more?
