From Forbes: Spann's paintings range from richly textured abstractions, such as his Dalmatian series, to surrealist portraits of two-headed people. Despite not visiting museums or art galleries as a child in New Jersey, he's had solo exhibitions in Tokyo, Miami and Los Angles and been featured at Gagosian and Alimine Rech, where he is the youngest artist represented. His work is in the collections of the Perez Museum of Art and the High Museum and the corporate collections of UBS and Credit Suisse. Currently Spann is participating in the inaugural New Haven Artist Residency, founded by MacArthur grant winner Titus Kaphar.
