Being the Only One: Build Inclusion by Addressing Tokenization, Bias, Stereotype Threat and Imposter Syndrome (P3 Collaboratory)

Tuesday, August 3, 2pm - 3:30pm

The P3 Collaboratory, together with the School of Arts & Sciences-Newark (SASN), invites interested staff and faculty to join us on Tuesday, August 3, for a webinar on building inclusion by addressing tokenization, bias, stereotype, and imposter syndrome.

Hosted by our partners at PaperClip Communications, this live webinar will feature expert presenter Naomi Siggs, Senior Associate Dean of Students at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio. Join Siggs as she engages participants in this critical conversation on how isolating it can be to be "the only" and how all of us can intentionally address these issues in the recruitment process, classroom environment and office culture, all while exploring their own identities and group memberships in the process. She will share definitions of key concepts, strategies for those who experience them, as well as opportunities for others to create ways to combat feelings of exclusion and isolation.

Participants will walk away with tools to educate yourself, your staff and students.
