POSTPONED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
Join us in Conklin Hall, Room 319 on Monday, December 2nd from 5-7pm for an evening of poetry, spoken word, and tastes from the diaspora. Listen and enjoy from the audience, or participate with your own poetry in front of a supportive and welcoming crowd.
One of the highlights of the evening will be an introduction to the Chicory Project. Chicory magazine published the poetry and artwork of working-class African Americans living in Baltimore from 1966-1983. Rediscovered by Dr. Mary Rizzo, asst. professor of history and affiliate faculty in African American and African Studies, this unique historical and cultural resource is now available online (bit.ly/chicorymag). Follow the Chicory Revitalization Project on Instagram @chicory_baltimore to learn more.
Free and open to all members of the Rutgers community.
