About

Many of the university’s community-engaged partnerships are led by faculty in the Urban Education Department. Our commitment to high impact scholarship and transformative learning is done in collaboration with the communities that comprise the city of Newark. Our distinctive excellence is bolstered by the range and diversity of life experiences, talents, and aspirations of our undergraduate, graduate, professional students, and community partners. We are a community in and of Newark—where excellence embraces diversity.
