The Department of Political Science offers an undergraduate Major and an undergraduate Minor in Political Science. Both the Major and the Minor provide students with the critical-thinking and writing skills required for civic engagement in a democratic society and enable them to pursue careers in the public, non-profit, and private sectors or continue with graduate study in political science, law, public service and administration, criminal justice, non-profit administration, global politics, and international relations.

General Guidelines for the Major and the Minor

Grades:

Only courses with grades of C or better may be counted toward the Major and the Minor.

Transfer credits:

Up to 18 credits of political science courses taken at other colleges or universities may be applied toward the Major with the approval of the Department Chair. Up to 9 credits of such courses may be applied to the Minor with the approval of the Chair. These credits may not include courses already transferred in and evaluated by NJ Transfer and the Office of Academic Services.
