Requirements for a MINOR in Philosophy
NOTE: The requirements listed below are NEW requirements for the minor and apply to students who registered for the minor after August, 2011. The former requirements still apply for students who registered for the minor before August, 2011 (please consult with Dr. Derosa for details).
Students must take a total of 24 credits in Philosophy distributed as follows:

730:201 Introduction to Logic | 3 |
730:212 Introduction to Ethics or 730:205 Current Moral and Social Issues | 3 |
730:306 Greek Philosophy and 730:307 Modern Philosophy | 6 |
Three additional 300- or 400-level courses (any topic) offered by the Philosophy Department | 9 |
Total | 24 |
Please note: Courses listed above are denoted by the new course numbers for philosophy that took effect in 2010. If you took the same course under the old course number prior to January 2010, it will still count toward your major. All majors and minors should consult with Dr. Derosa, who will help them to negotiate the changes in course numbering and make sure they are meeting the requirements.
