IS Major to Be Discontinued
The IS major will be discontinued effective Fall 2019.
Currently declared IS majors are allowed to finish out the degree.
The deadline to declare the major is 5/15/19. Students wishing to do so should meet with Prof. Puhak and can set up an appointment by emailing him at email@example.com.
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Rutgers University-Newark offers undergraduate degrees in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, and Information Systems in the Newark College of Arts and Sciences and in the University College.
The Department also offers a Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences. This is a joint Ph.D. program with the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Here, combined graduate faculties from both institutions provide research opportunities in a variety of fields including: Algebra, Analysis, Geometric Group Theory, Kleinian Groups, Low-dimensional Topology, Mathematical Physics, Number Theory, Representation Theory and Teichmüller Theory.
