About

The Department of Economics on the Rutgers Newark campus is composed of research-active faculty dedicated to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Whether you are headed to the job market or graduate school, Economics (the only social science with a Nobel Prize) may be the ideal major or minor for you.

How You Will Learn

The Department of Economics is one of the core social science departments within the School of Arts & Sciences-Newark at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

The department offers both a major and minor in economics leading toward the BA degree. We also maintain an MA program in economic and an accelerated 5-year BA/MA program.
