Our graduate students are increasingly obtaining their own funding to pursue international research. Jonathan Algeo (Jon), a first year PhD student, is the recipient of a prestigious East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes (EAPSI) Program fellowship from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Jon will conduct research on ground penetrating radar (GPR) for assessing moisture content variations and it's relation to carbon cycling in Australia. Jon will work under the direction of Dr. Remke Van Dam, an international expert in the GPR method, spending 10 weeks in Australia this summer.
