Ameer Sohrawardy specializes in early modern drama and travel narratives. He earned his Ph.D. from Rutgers University - New Brunswick.
Courses Taught
Shakespeare, Chaucer, Milton, The 17th Century, Renaissance Travel Narratives, and Literary Criticism. His essay, "Twin Obligations in Plaatje's Diphosho-phosho," appears in 'Native Shakespeares: Indigenous Appropriations on a Global Stage' (Ashgate, 2008)
Publications
In summer of 2011, he participated in the inaugural session of the Mellon School for Theater and Performance Research at Harvard University, in preparation for a book-length project on Anglo-Ottoman interactions in Tudor-Stuart drama and prose.
